This steam shower is a standalone unit. The drain connection is connected with a flexible hose line. The hot/cold connection is also connected with flexible lines as shown in the photo below. This makes it easy for the unit to be assembled and then pushed against the back wall. You also don't need an exact location for your drain which makes it simple to replace an old shower. The electrical connection is hard wired into an electrical box that is already pre-mounted on the unit.
